Groove Grinder
....In the spring of 2007 Ross Cordrey and Jon Hoon formed a band with the intention of writing and performing high energy music that has its roots in blues but also takes a healthy swig from 70's funk and british rock. With the addition of Adam Palmer (Drums) and Philip David (Bass) the line up was established and the result is Groovegrinder! A 4 piece Bristol based outfit whose well crafted songs are focussed on a feel-good, foot tapping and hand clapping audience. No teenage angst here! And you can forget the credit crunch! Groovegrinder are here to tell you that for a couple of hours at least, you can lean into the music and 'stick it to the Man!'
.....Live? There is a tangible energy that can be experienced when the band plays live. Searing guitar and gut wrenching vocals all held together with an intuitive and solid back line- truely a band that thrives on the opportunity and ability to turn the live experience into something very special!
"What we do is organic. Songs grow from rehearsals and jam sessions. If they feel good to us, then we trust that they will feel good to our audience. Sometimes the process takes weeks, sometimes, if our heads are all in the same place at the same time, songs like Funky Bone just kinda spring up in one rehearsal!" - Jon Hoon
....As well as a wealth of experience, ranging from John Peel radio 1sessions, through to thousands of gigs, blues and rock festivals, tours and recording work, the influences that each person brings to the band result in some seriously danceable songs that your feet just can't resist, to smokey, sultry tunes that brood menacingly in the corner of the Bar.
Enough is enough! Let the music do the talking!
